guage wiring question

what is the best/easiest place to hook up the power for the guages?

I was looking for the same info when installing mine and a lot of guys were using the cigarette lighter wire since it's hot with the ignition on. It worked fine for me... . Joe

For some reason I thought the cig. lighter was hot all the time. I just checked and it's not (as you know)

I also used the cig lighter, pink with a yellow tracer, I believe. Thats what Geno's Garage also says to do

That's a good place to hook up at, just remember that down the line if you hook anything else into that circuit. You don't want to overload it. I believe it is a 20 amp circuit but am not sure right now. You could conceivably end up blowing the fuse occassionally or maybe even melt the wire. It should be fine for just the guages tho.

If all is working correctly, the fuse will blow before the wire even gets close to meltdown
