Having just installed my gauges I was hoping I could get some "typical" readings to go by as I evaluate my rig. I installed Westach guages, including a EGT/Boost combo, rear diff/transmission temp combo, and fuel pressure 1-15.

What are the typical readings I should see on each of these guages? My readings reflect a fully warmed up engine at hwy speed of approx 65

EGT: Usually around 700 degrees, sometimes higher to 800 or 900 when climbing a hill.

BOOST: Varies of course, depending on the pedal, but at 65 around 8 or so on the guage.

REAR DIFF: Around 100 to 125 degrees

transmission:

OOPS... pressed the wrong key.

transmission: The only I'm most interested in: 125 degrees at 65.

What should the readings be under load?

What about going up a 7% grade, 3,000 elevation?

Thanks for any replies!!

gauge readings

EGT--about right, assuming you're reading pre turbo.

boost, also about right.

transmission..... if this is an auto, you must be reading from the pan????

my transmission temp, in the line to the cooler generally runs about the same as the engine temp.

Yes I am. Also my EGT is pre-turbo. It's nice to know the readings are about right. The only guage reading I'm concerned about right now is that the fuel pressure is reading around 8 psi when I'm driving 65 or so, 10 at idle. Every else is saying (5 posts or so) that it seems low, should be around 12 all the time. Don't know if I should take this to Dodge yet...

fp

ccc... .

do a WOT run. if your fp is below 8 PSI post filter, DC is supposed to replace the transfer (lift) pump. if you only have 8 at cruise, there's no way you pass the 8 PSI at WOT test. if the dealer gives you a hard time, tell 'em to call the star hotline.
