Sounds like you sliced, cut, punctured or otherwise compromised the integrity of your boost tubing when you routed it through the firewall and up to the gauges.

How would you know if you were reading 1/2 to 1 psi low? If it's air that you hear hissing, it's coming from somewhere. When I first installed my boost gauge, I didn't tighten the fitting enough and it hissed (at the gauge in the A-pillar) when boost got above about 15psi.

oh, ok i see...

right now the whine is when i start the truck and seems to go away after driving, but tomorrow i will have to take it apart and look

thanks

Get your ear close to the box the EGT guage came with. My buddy went through 3 of these before he found one he could live with. I haven't hooked up my isspro guage yet but hope I have better luck than he did. This high pitched noise will began as soon as you turn the key on.

Isopro should not buzz

I have an Isopro ev series with the amptifer box. I got mine just after christmas, no noise, or the wife would here it.

I more worried that it reading high I can hit 1100-1200 esy with the comp on 1x2

The boost line (plastic) will carry actualy vibrate with noise from the engine. What I did was find the general area I could here the noise from, then take a piece of vacuum line, slice it down the middle and slip it over the boost line. Once you fit it over the line, you can keep it there with electrical tape every couple inches.

This isolates the plastic boost line from vibrating against other things in the truck. My noise was comming from inside the gauge pod itsself.

Next I got to clean the connectors on the back of the EGT gauge, at times it reads funky but if I tap on the gauge, it will come back to life.

At the same time I take it apart to fix that, I will add a little red light that my chevy oil pressure sensor screwed into the fuel test pressure port will turn on when the lift pump starts to go bad :)

Exhaust guage flacky too

TwoPro

Interesting my Isopro exhaust guage was iradatic ,it would bounce around then drop for a while and then start working right again just after I installed it. After a few days it seemed to settle out, I suspect it was a loose power wire. I used something similar to scotch tap but it had a plug for a side tap on the end. It seem ok now,

Check your electrical power to the guage ampilifer if it like the Isopro setup. It sure moves fast, it unbelivable how fast the temperature climb, 1100 bang.

My wife love it for watching the cool down temperature, she never knew how long to idle before. I installed it preturbo, I think it might be cool to go twin setup with another on post turbo too.
