That's why I'm investigating mechanical gauges! Plus (call it discrimination, preference, whatever) I feel more comfortable and like I'm getting a more accurate readings with an Analog gauge. Just my 2CW... ...
SPA makes a nice guage and as you have discoverd they are expensive. The website you loooked at is a bit out of date as Nowel (he owns the business) no longer carries the guages. There are lots of other places that do sell them and the prices are still in the same range.
A guy I know swears by Dakota Digital guages. He has a couple in his truck.
zimman20 - as for analog guages being more accurate I would have to disagree. If you read
this short tech article from SPA's website you will see why. I would also say that there was a nice article in the last copy of TDR magazine on the accuracy and response times of thermocouples and SPA had one of the best if not the best times.
These are suppose to be some great gauges... I am looking at getting some in the next few months, fuel press. and boost anyway. They come in red, green, and amber.
