It has been mentioned before on here that things are no always what they seem. Filter companys make filters for customers other than themselves......

You can smash Fram, but it appears that they can make a filter that suits Amsoil........

Packed with my Fram stock order yesterday......

Mike.:D

I had always heard that Fram was a major manufacturer for other retailers, and I would submit that their production is spec'd by the customer. Hmmm.

Just to show that I am not a cruel, heartless SOB the first Amsoil dealer that provides me with his/her UPS account number to bill the shipping on can have these. PM or e-mail it to me.

I'm not sure what they fit or I'd take them. Doesn't look like they fit anything I have.

That is interesting, but I knew someone had to produce filters for Amsoil. I just thought it would of been Wix or Donaldson.

For our Cummins oil filter, I'm pretty sure Donaldson made the extended-life oil filter for Amsoil. It's a very good filter from what I've seen.

I'm not so comfortable with any kind of Fram connection. Mike, was this order shipped from Fram, or from a company with more than one product line?

Unrelated, but you mention WIX, which had recovered their reputation from failed oil filters for our Cummins years ago. Well I guess they made a fuel filter for the Duramax that is bypassing dirty fuel under certain conditions and taking out injectors. It's a shame to see things like that, and Wix supplies lots of parts operations.

Shipped from the Fram warehouse, we buy direct. We often will get some strange thing like a case of Autolite spark plugs but always a Honeywell product.

We sell many Fram filters, enough so that if there were issues I would see them. We have customers that demand them so I stock them.

My own use, only Fleetguard for the Ram's and Chrysler filters for the mini-vans.

I worked in a refinery on the west coast for years. During that time we made the lube for Gulf. They had the containers made and shipped to us, we produced the lubes to Gulfs specifications and packaged them. We did this for them under contract for years. Seems Gulf didn't want property on the west coast, but wanted in the market share.

Don't know if Fram is doing this for Amsoil, but would like to know. If nothing else, if the filters are not filtering to published specs, then Amsoil is legally responsible for the product published performance, not Fram. Amsoil will need to go after Fram for failure to meet product contract agreement.

Either way, they should be fine.

PS: for the heck of it, I sent Amsoil a direct question for product production. If they answer, I'll paste here.

The Amsoil branded filters in this case are a quality piece, no question. They are not a Fram in any way, shape or form. But it looks like Fram's filter plant manufactured them.

I just had to poke the filter bear.

And I am serious about letting an Amsoil dealer or loyal fan have them, Fram does not want them back.

Just pay the shipping, I hate to throw them away.

Mike.

Fram makes their HP series for racing. If you look at a top fuel hemi you'll see a massive special fram unit for the app. I have used HP1. It's a high pressure tall ford/Chrysler unit. It's not regular production and has special specs. I'm not pro fram but understand they have the capability to make the good stuff too. I wouldn't be surprised if they're cranking them out for amzoil.

Sort of like people bashing Lippert RV frames. Lippert makes what companies want just like Fram does. The frame label sells to the masses and they want the best price possible for filters so Fram provides them.

Had to go pull a packing slip, thanks for bringing that up WAYNE......:D

You are correct, Fram Group Operations LLC.

Must have happened when they bought Luberfiner out. Look at the packing slips a couple times a week but missed the name change as they look the same at a quick glance.......

Mike.

Fram used to be a big manufacturer here in E.Providence RI.They employed a lot of people. I cut logs for a landowner here in Exeter who was an engineer for Fram for most of his working life. He said he designed filters to the specs given. If a co. wanted cheap, that's what they got. He seemed to prefer quality, but was pragmatic enough to do what was asked of him.

Last call if anyone wants these for the price of shipping.

Otherwise they are going in the dumpster.......

Mike.

I am an Amsoil dealer, but don't have much use for those filters. My only Toyota has a dual remote mount on it so it doesn't use the 15K mile filters.

I know someone local to ask, I should see him tonight.

Donaldson does make the 25K mile filter for Amsoil, and the ELF7349 is the exact same filter as the EaO80 but cheaper.. so even thou I am an Amsoil dealer I run the Donaldson version.

Yes, please ask him. I really hate to chuck these, they are a well made filter.

He doesn't want them, but I have an idea for them. Shoot me a pm or email with what shipping will be.
