Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Gutted AFC?

Thinking about pulling the spring out of my AFC housing and was wondering somthing. I like being able to turn the smoke down with my valet switch, but if I remove the spring is the force of the governer arm enough to push the AFC profile forward and let the arm hit my 0plate? Or is boost still needed to move the AFC arm forward even in the absence of the spring?



Had one apart a while back, just cant remember how much play there was.

If your going to pull the spring out then pull the arm off too and you will have no control in valet, still can't figure out why you would want to do this, if the arm is in the way you might want to look further into this.



Race Pumps have an arm and spring... ... just a thought!
