Mack,

I can tell you from past experience with a Mustang 5. 0 with about 400hp that nothing hits harder than a centerforce dual friction clutch. I used to lanch at 5000rpm on 10 in. slicks and had to upgrade my axles because I twisted one off at the light !

not positive, but I think some people have had poor results with the centerforce due to the lack of rpm's in a diesel engine

Trust me,go with a South-Bend clutch!Call and talk to peter about what combination you have and he can set you up with the right clutch. It's the best clutch out there for the diesel's, in my opinion. :)

You may be right about the low rpm thing, I don't know. But as far as not holding up to torqe it was enough to pull the front wheels of my Mustang off the ground and run a mid 11 second pass in the quarter mile.

Look @ Signature

I have a South Bend and LOVE IT!!!

The clutch holds everything that I have even with the way I drive it. I keep my box on 5/5 and my foot touching the bellhousing with all the gear banging I can do. It holds. Had a stocker clutch which held nothing and the MU2001 Con FE works great. No Chatter pulling or backing trailers

sburton look @my sig

Help me out with something here, we have about the same set up as you can see from my sig. I have been trying to decide if i should upgrade the EZ to a comp box. . I keep hearing about how the comp will only give about 35-40 more "peak" hp over the EZ on the ETH. I don't care about peak hp what i want to know is how do you like it in general?? Do you leave it on when you tow your trailer?? Does it seem to add a lot more bottom end top end etc etc. Can you tell a big diferenc between setting 1 and 5??

sorry to get of track guys, but i agree with everything said so far, call peter, south bend rocks.

I tried an EZ, Powermax3 adjustable, and now the Comp with the DD3's. As far as telling a difference yes there is a large difference from 1 - 5. My Comp was the last one that I tried ad love the neatness of the kit plus no huge Scotch Loks just a pin prick.

When I changed from the Powermax to the Comp O changed wiring harness due to the gouge in the pump wire and other wires.

But to answer your question The Comp is on and wouldn't trade it for any of the others!

thanks

sburton, thanks for the report, looks like i have to put the ol credit card on nuclear melt down. any one interested in a used EZ

dbrandt, your right about centerforce in racing applications, they can hold enormous amounts of hp/torque. . I think they are great and are a unique approach to clutches. I just don't think they would work very well on a diesel because the centerforce uses centrifugal force acting on weights to help increase the pressure, and there's not enough centrifugal force at the lower rpm's we usually operate in.
