H.O. Engine 1999& 6 Speed Trans.

Friend of mine just bought a used 1999 3500 Dodge 4x4 Quad cab. It has the 6 speed transmission. He said it came from the factory with the H. O. Engine 245 h. p. & 505 lbs. Torque & that they manufactured 1000 of these trucks that year. I think NOT! and that the first H. O. Engines were put in the 2001 trucks only and that the 1999&2000 trucks with 6 speeds came with the Standard lower horsepower diesel about 215 H. P. Anyone know the true answer???

No, But if you look on the identification tag just to the left of the radiator it will say either ETH (HO engine) or ETC. I think that the ETC had 235 HP instead of 215.
