Gun Owners Speak Out.

Bunch of Morons. The US exceeded the amount of laws they need years ago. Instaed of enforcing the ones they have they always come up with new ones. Get caught with an illegal gun go to jail for many many ,any years whats the problem?

It has gone to the left. In the direction of homosexual marriage, gay rights, rights to terrorist in another country, rights of the criminal, rights of the illegal aliens, rights of the poor or basically rights to the underdog. Rights of the individual to prosper and to protect that prosperity are going, going, going... .

ARRRRGGGGHHHHHH. They want to take your gun away but after they do they will slap you on the wrist for having one what a f'in joke. They will probably send you to counseling or a liberal indoctrination school as well

Like I said on another thread... . I'm going to put my reps on speed dial. We're going to have to make a lot of calls in the next 4 years. #@$%!

What I find odd is, that in the general public, there isn't a lot of outcry for more gun laws. It is all generated by politicians and some loud "Brady" type groups. Meanwhile, in the general public, there is a very loud call for more criminal prosecution and less gun control, yet the politicians ignore us. I guess that is typical these days. And very sad.

Look Guys this is just Politics from this guy......

Many congressman have to initiate legislation to show that he tried and that's all he could do, i. e. he can't make others vote for it, but he can tell his folks look I introduced legislation! ;)

Look at this Bill - It Has No FREAKING SPONSORS! SHOW me a piece of legislation that became law that had NO OTHER FREAKING SPONSORS! Good ideas have folks who want to be along for the ride..... even the fringe left isn't on this train! That is a sure give away that it ain't going NOWHERE! This has as much chance becoming law as Sarah becoming President! Opps sorry guys... . that ain't happenning either!

Hammersley,

While what you say about the sponsors makes sense, it is still early on in the game. This bill was just recently introduced and would take many months to get through the process in which time the sponsors (hopefully not) can sign on. This is why people like us who are concerned have to keep watching. We need to not forget about this thing a month or two later so that it doesn't creep back up on us with a nasty surprise. Hopefully you're right and it will not make it out of committee.

One thing that we need to be VERY AWARE of is, these bills, that do not have sponsors and House resolutions can be reworded and used as a tagalong on other legislation that does not deal directly with the issue at hand. There is more than one way to get yer pet bill into the books! GregH

Correct. This is the kind of flotsam that gets hooked to a "urban welfare" bill on page 674, further than any congressman or his minions will ever look!

Actually, that's how the ban got done in '94. I was researching this for a meeting with my Congressman and found that back then, it was added in as an amendment to another bill and actually wasn't going to pass in the House in the alloted time for voting. The Speaker at the time left the voting open past the customary one hour allowed so that he might have more time to twist the arms of a few people. In the end, it passed by 2 votes because of this. Had he not bent the House rules on voting time, it wouldn't have passed.
