I currently have the DPF & NOX deleted with an H&S DPF delete package. I still have the CAT in the OEM downpipe. I'm looking at removing the H&S and installing the Flo-Pro Stage II system, in stainless steel, which includes the DPF & NOX delete in addition to the CAT delete (downpipe).

Question #1... Is the cat in the downpipe that restrictive? My truck has a relatively nice "rumble" to it without being an annoyance. I assume, if unleashed, the 6. 7 will be as loud (or louder) than a straight-piped 5. 9 after the inclusion of the CAT delete.

Question #2... Will I see much of a performance gain in deleting the CAT in the downpipe? I have achieved a solid 18. 3 mpg (hand calculated) on a trip to Panama City Beach, FL last summer. The truck has plenty of power stock (I do have a Juice w/Attitude (#6 HOT unlock) and barely use it over Level 1 or Level 2... ... unless I have some pesky ricers nearby. I am essentially looking to squeeze a little more fuel economy out of the Blue Bus. The EGR is still in place, by the way. It currently has 34. 5k miles on the clock.

Question #3... . For those that have the Stage II setup, do any of you run the Donaldson or Nelson mufflers?

Sorry for so many questions..... just trying to do my research before I take the plunge.

Thanks in advance for your responses.....

I am looking to do the same thing and found a 4" downpipe on ebay for $139. Look up 6. 7 downpipe. You will find it. Curious to hear back from anyone.

Thnaks,

Tim

Are you still running your factory muffler?

Yes... . if one can even call it a "muffler". It is small and straight through in design; falls more into a resonator category if you ask me.

The pics below are from a guy's 2008 6. 7L RAM 3500 DRW :

I ordered the Pro Flo 2. Now on my old 5. 9 Mega cab I ran 5" from the turbo back with a Donaldson Muffler # I go off of this site, sounded great, no drone, I wonder what the 4" brother to that muffler would be? Gsbrock, does yours currently have a drone at hiway speeds? I have read that with the different exhaust manifold than the 5. 9 they sound different, even when totatly straight piped.

Thanks,

Tim

No drone at all with my current setup..... even when towing. I'm 45 and really like the quiet this 6. 7L delivers... ... this is the reason I'm asking all the questions. A little louder would be OK, but I don't want it extremely loud as we use the truck for longer vacation trips. I suppose worst case scenario is to do the Donaldson/Nelson muffler as needed.

I suspect the 6. 7L's VGT may come into play with the lower sound levels I've read here and on some other forums I've placed the same topic on.

Last night I did the EGR and cooler delete and put the flo pro 4" on from the turbo back with a 4" Donalson muffler. I set my smarty to 30hp with timing and dpf off. Truck runs great, no cel, noise level is cab is barley different than stock cruising anywhere from 55-80. Mileage on the overhead went from 14. 8 to 19. Love it!!

So does the down pipe with the cat in it make a big mileage difference? That is the only thing that I have left on the truck that is stock in the exhaust. Egr and cooler are gone also. I did not find any difference in milage when I did these changes and have wondered if the down pipe and cat would have anything to do with it(restrictions). I don't want any more noise in the cab as I tow allot, but I would like to blast the rice rockets by my tail pipe a little more. Does the cat removal make a difference in the sound when the rest is straight piped? Any milage increase would be great.

I am sure is will make more noise with the cat out, as far as much noise and how much mileage, I do not know what to tell you, but the more of that crap you take out, the better the mileage and the more noise at the tail pipe. I love the sound of mine with the Donaldson muffler! Just enough bark!

I am fully deleted home-brew 4" straight pipe. No egr or egr cooler. I have little to no drone at all. I have some drone in the morning when the transmission is warming up and not shifting into 6th gear. I have a buddy with the same basic setup except 5" straight pipe into an home-brew 8" stack and he has some serious drone. Mine is a mega-cab, his is a quad. I think that makes some difference also.

I want to do the cat/dpf delete on my truck but i dont want to go through the trouble of removing the down pipe/cat..... i was wondering what you guys thing of doing the egr delete with the cooler block out ... ... the kit includes the plate to replace the egr and a round cap that blocks out the cooler ... ... do yall think there will be an problems with leaving the cooler on even tho its not in use

looking to delete the dpf I have a 2007 3500 chassis cab 6,7 stick any news on the h&s preformance tuner thanks boatwheels
