H&S tuner cause ECM failure?

Has anyone had an H&S Mini Maxx tuner take out the ECM? Had my 6.7 die in the campground after a 3 hour road trip and local shop says the Mini Maxx caused the failure. Truck has 179K on it, and last 40k have been with the H&S Min Maxx after the EGR/DPF delete, and no problems until now. Suggests EFI Live instead of H&S. Thoughts?

Cummins ECM's rarely (as in never) fail. I suppose the tuner could have corrupted the flash, but lightening and hooking up batteries backwards is about the only thing that I have actually take out an ECM.

They want to sell you more parts and tuning. If the ECM is physically compromised it is because something totally unrelated to tuning happened.

My 06 with 240,000 miles stopped powering my BD Exhaust brake several years ago. The problem was the computer and not the exhaust brake. Decided that I did'nt want to spend $2000 on my truck with the high mileage.

I have seen them lock up after a flash,not usually at rest.
