I have seen a few threads on this subject, but am having trouble searching with H2 being only 2 letters.

See truck info below...

I plan on adding a 2" leveling kit and am looking at stock 17x8 H2 wheels with stock 315-70 R 17 tires.

Will the back spacing work??

Will the center cap off of my stock 16in aluminum wheels fit the H2 wheels?

If not, what have some of you done?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes the back spacing is perfect. With my 2" front springs it doesn't rub at all and looks really good. With my stock wheels and 315/75R16 tires it rubbed on full lock before and after the 2" front leveling kit.

The center cap will work, it must be modified. I trimmed the plastic about 1/2 inch all the way around and ground approx 1/8" off the end of each metal clip peice so it grabs the dodge lug nuts.

I love these wheels and tires on my truck.

The 3rd gen caps fit better than the 2nd gen ones. (slightly larger diameter and square sides)

To search for H2, enter H2* in the search field. The asterisk is a wildcard character and acts as sort of a filler for shorter terms.

You could also use the Hummer caps. (I have a set if you want them) The fronts fit but rear needs a hole bored thru for the axle.

Thanks for all the help so far guys... .

So the only machine work that will need to be done is to the center caps. The wheels will bolt right up?

If I can get a set of tires and wheels a reasonable price, I think this is the way I am going to go. I will have to keep my eye out for a set of 3rd generation center caps.

Anybody have any?

I just saw a set of 3rd gen caps go for $20 on eBay.

The wheels also need to be opened up a bit. The H2 axle is about 4 1/2" dia. , and ours is about 4 3/4" dia.

Hoot,

What was the bore dimension that you listed in the thread on diesel place?

I bought the wheels and was about to run them over to the machine shop and looked back to get the information and it was gone.

I am going with 4. 775, let me know if I am wrong.

Thanks,

Shawn
