Who has tried both? Which one is better? What are the details on installing the H2E? Cost?

From your signature I'd say the H2E is way too big and you will have monster turbo lag with it. Also it is physically bigger and hard to fit, requiring a number of custom modifications. In contrast, the HX40 is an easy fit and works well with the fueling levels most bombers have.

I have tried both the HX-40 and the H2E, there was a tremendous amount of turbo lag.
I think this turbo is better suited for twins. The exhaust down pipe had to be modified, the oil supply tube had to have an adapter plate made to attach to the H2E, the oil return tube had to be lengthened and an adapter plate for the exhaust manifold had to be made.

I've run both and with the H2E solo I experienced a significant lag. The HX40 is far superior as far as drivability IMO. Read Hemi-Dart's recap of his HX40 install.

What size of housing did you have HVAC?Was it a 17, 19, or 22?
Since the H2E does have so much lag when used solo, what could be used for the smaller turbo if a 22 housing was put on the H2E in a twin set-up? Some have done it this way with a 35 off the manifold and H2E/22 for the top end. However, they report that the 35 creates a lot of backpressure. I don't like the idea of a 35 on the manifold in a twin set-up because of the down sizing and restriction. I prmarily truck pull with mine but would still like a little drivability to go dating on the weekends. I would use my 40 off the manifold, but I am afraid that once the H2E starts pushing about 65-70psi through it that it will rip the shaft in two. Any ideas? Something like a hybrid 40 with a 16 housing and stronger shaft would be good. I know some have already changed shafts and it didn't last long but if we keep trying, we can eventually make the 40 the best all around turbo and even be able to use it in a twin set-up.
(p. s. - My H2E just arrived via UPS while I was typing this. I'm going to start on it friday night. It will be a solo set-up for a while. )
