I trained it with old #7 12 gage.. it was about 4 feet long.

I found one like that in my dog kennel with my two dogs. Dogs weren’t hurt, but I split it in two with my 12 ga. bird shot. Both halves crawled in different directions. Always better safe than sorry with those things, especially with kids around.

Years ago, right after moving into our house, which had stood empty for quite some time, my son encountered a small diamondback in the hall. He dispatched it with his baseball bat, skinned it and tacked the skin on a piece of plywood to cure. He was about 12.
