I have had the truck 4200 miles and I am still debating how much changing temps alter the noise of my truck.
I started it up earlier this week and it would be at normal rpms, lug down below 500 rpm and then seem to die. Suddenly it would come to life on its own. I let it do this a few times to see what was going on then I decided to shut it off. This is after proper normal start procedure and a stickshift.
I thought for less than a minute and decided to restart the truck. No repeat of problem.
Now I am of course paranoid ever since then and since I have a banks 6 pack and a boost and exhaust gas temp gauge I watch the gauges too much now.
It seems on some days the engine is a quiet diesel. Then on other days it seems more noisy like the earlier dodges.
I have been reading and searching since this happened and I figure a lot of this is in my head because the truck seems to be exactly where it was mileage wise.
I don't tow anything yet so I can't load it down and see how that does, and I have nothing to compare it to anyway.
This is not a 911 situation but I got to wondering if someone can point me towards a sensor or something to check for any moisture problems, it had been raining all weekend and truck sat from sat night until monday morning.
I have to say thanks for the excellant info I have found already from searching and what not. I figure I may not be searching for the right thing so I decided to make my first post outside the newbie area.
