Get this-

I've been on the fence with the choice between the SBC FE or 3600 12CB. Last night on the way to dinner my girlfriend told me I *have* to get the dual disk! She doesn't want an on/off clutch to drive around in traffic around here. No problem with me!

Anyway, I've been reading a lot here and on DTR, and not many talk about the Haisley dual disk setups. I'm going to be doing mostly street driving, playing with ricers, and maybe a few passes down the quarter. No sled pulling.

I'm afraid that with the 3600 12CB that I will have a slow shifting transmission. Is the 6-puck clutch a better option from SBC?

And how about the Haisley clutches? They have their street clutch and a street drag clutch, and one guy is doing low 13's with his.

Anyone have any racing experience with either company's dual disks?

Anyone try one of those new Zoom single disks?

I have the Hasley in mine and it is OK for the street but it does not like the track to much! But then I also am past the HP limit for it. It shifts like stock witch is great for a dual disc.

I just installed a haisley street drag about few hundred miles ago and like it alot. It takes some getting used to using a little more rpm on take off to make it nice and smooth with no chatter but other than that it is like stock. Overall im happy with my decision

I love my Enterprise engine dual disk pulling clutch ,,once I burnt the clutch in a few times pulling the sled its nice and smooth,,I can speed shift no problem with it,Tow the horses and take of smooth,Third gear launches no problem. Just my two cents :-{}

A dual disk is not very friendly for town driving.

I drive mine around town but it takes more effort than driving and FE any day.

A dual disk is not very friendly for town driving dont kid your girlfriend into thinking it is going to be easy :-laf :-laf

After about a half hour around town traffic I am about ready to start walking!!

I drive mine around town but it takes more effort than driving and FE any day.

Its just the price you pay to play and have a good clutch that will hold up to abuse (in my case sledpulling).

A good sled pull is always good for helping the clutches behavior.

The pedal is stiffer to push but other than that and the noise from the floater plate it drives like stock Around town... Most of the time I idle of in third gear and then when I shift i dont use the clutch anyways Unless im racing our speed shifting then I will clutch it. .

When I first put The EEP clutch in I thought I made I big mistake because it was really grabby I mean I couldnt even take of in first and i would almost stall the engine,,But After a couple of pulls slipping it big time it is smooth. .

zoom is not available for the 03 6 spd yet. I am told they will hold 1500#'s on the ceramic and 800 on the organic disk. The discs that are going in these sets is based on a Spicer style from Semi Trucks, so it has a very strong torsion damper. I will be letting you know when I get one to use. ;) I would call haisley and get van or pattys opinion on the clutch . they sell the sbc line as well.

I talked w/ Patty today. She's extremely knowledgeable! Anyway, she said the only way you'd know you had their street twin is the rattle at 750 rpm. She said take-off and shifting is near stock, with a light pedal. It would handle the occasional 3rd gear launch.

The street drag has a little faster engagement, but she said it's still very driveable, and will take a lot of abuse as long as you're not pulling.

She also said I should get some twins, as driving around town with a 500hp truck running a single charger isn't going to be any fun.

She also mentioned that with the dd there's additonal torsional vibration because there are no springs, so the trans will wear faster.

I guess I'm now more confused than ever.

I want over 500hp, can't afford twins and a dual disk, what am I to do?

Im still in the 400HP club and am running with a stock turbo(for now) and I dont have any problems. Im not saying that an SPS66 wouldnt make driving alot more fun but Im not sure why she would say it wouldnt be fun
