Hamilton Pocket Watch

This week I became the proud owner of my Great Great Grandfathers Hamilton pocket watch. It's a Hamilton 992 and the serial number dates the watch back to around 1903 from what I can find out. From what I understand he worked for the railroad out west. not sure which one. At one point he worked for the Monongahela Railway in PA.

My wife and I somehow became the keepers of things such as that from the family over the years.......

Pretty slick looking. I've always wanted a pocket watch, just have a hard time imagining when I'd use it.

That is a great looking old watch. I was lucky enough to receive mine as a gift from my grandfather one Christmas, probably around 1970. It is not as old as yours, as he began his railroad career somewhere around 1937. He hadn't carried it for a few years because the UPRR had allowed them to begin using Bulova wristwatches. It is something I'll always treasure.

This Ingraham clock was a wedding present to my Grandfather and Grandmother. Need to get it fixed before the remaining clock repair people give it up. Also have a grandfather clock but it’s a lot newer, around 1975 vintage.

Love Grandfather clocks, they are straight up cool..
