well the ol' FASS system is going to need some attention soon. I had to tap on it with a hammer the other night to get the motor to run. It happened once at my house and then again after i parked it for dinner.

I have had a constant 10-13 psi reading on the fuel pressure gauge since i had the system. I did just get the ground relocation done back in the fall - 1. 5 years not having it grounded to the battery. I only have 20-25,000 on the FASS.

I am gonna make a call to the dealer to see about getting new brushes for it. How easy/hard is it to replace the brushes? Is there anymore PM i can do to make the system worry free?

If you search on the FASS, I believe that most remove the brushes and clean them (they tend to hang up in the older units due to corrosion) or replace them. When you put the new ones in, they smear some silicone sealer on the threads to prevent water from getting in and causing corrosion.

I have over 40k on mine, but I have the newer style motor... which is also an option (motor upgrade campaign they are running... ).

I hope that helps... I never took a brushed FASS apart, only read about it. But the brushes are external and look like screw driver heads on the ends of the motor (two of them)... should be easy to remove.
