I am looking for the Chrysler part numbers for a hand throttle to fit on my '92 truck (or even pre '92 trucks). I remember seeing some posts about this subject when the older version of this web site was being used. However, a search doesn't turn anything up that is useful. The local Chrysler dealer doesn't show anything either. I would like to be able to set my truck up for variable high idle speeds since it is getting cold out. If this fails, I will go with a generic hand throttle, but I thought I would try to go for factory parts first. Thanks for the help.

Ask the DC guy for the foot pedal/throttle assembly from an 89 CTD, it was the only year offered. The whole foot pedal/throttle assembly comes as one as far as I know. They may have discontinued it.

I don't have the part numbers but they also came on the 90 model. I did see one on a part schematic that the dealer had when my cable broke.

Throttle

I just went to a hd trucks parts store and bought a throttle. It one with the black handle with the red button that you can screw in and out as well as pull out. I got the 5' model. I may have cut a little off of it. I used a piece of 2" angle iron to bolt it under my dash right beside the brake release and hood release. Just make sure you drill the hole in the angle iron further towards your floorboards so the throttle does not hit the dash. Under the hood I looped it around where your cruise and foot feed go to but left lots of room in the loop towards the firewall so there would be no interference. I used a small 1/4 in bolt and to washers to secure the loop. To hold the throttle from moving under the hood I used a special kind of bolt thing that is used to connect ground wires together for electrical work. It fit just right I think through a hole and I ran the cable through it and used another nut to tighten it up.

Hope I can help.
