Hands free on ST package

When my wife and I were talking with the dealer, he mentioned in passing that it was possible to get the handsfree phone option installed at the dealer level. Everything was in place on the ST package to interface with your phone except for a module that made the handsfree and Serus radio operate (I guess they are both on the same module?)



Does anyone know if this is true? The same dealer told me the twin turbos really bumped up the power on the 2010 line-up and the Dana axles were still under the truck, so I don't have too much confidence there.

Im no expert, but I used Dodge's Build Your Own calculator on their website to check this.

For an ST package, the U-Connect package (which is the one I believe you are asking about) is not selectable as an option. The SLT is the first model that offers this. Maybe the wiring harness is different and doesnt allow that plug to be used.

Now, I`ve been wrong before. If you like the deal and the truck, I`d get your dealer to give you that option in writing before signing off...

The U-connect phone is an add-on that the dealer installs.
It includes a bluetooth module, the microphone for the phone system.
When I called the dealer to order it, it was about $400!
I don't know if the dealer has to install it.
I would work it into the sales agreement. Have the dealer pay for it. It doesn't make sense that the vehicle would not come with all of the equipment for something that is becoming required in all states.

I have the ST model and all the buttons are there for it, but the actual program or module are not, but was also told they could be added anytime

Be sure you know what you are getting with the U Connect Phone. I am waiting for my truck to be delivered which is a Laramie pkg. As I look thru the compatible phones the list is not that long. I thought any bluetooth would work but I think not. My u connect will come straight from the factory so i believe. Truck should be here in about a week I will let you know for sure then.
