Handy tools for fan removal

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Package deal??

Traced this out on a 8. 5" X 11" paper and gave dimensions.

Tool is cut out of 1/4" steel. Top one is for the fan nut and the bottom one is to go over the hub bolts to hold it while you loosen the fan.

Harold in Idaho has them for $10 each but if you are able to make one, here is the pattern.

I made my own wrench too. I made the handle very long so it extends up above the top of the radiator. Then I just smacked it with the mallet. The sudden impact spins it right loose. After that my Channelox work every time. Its just that first time.

i took big cresent wrench modified it to open enough for the nut, and then ground down the jaws to fit in there with no problem. WORKS for me!!!!!

I use a 2 foot 1/2" steel rod and put it on the edge of the fan nut and give it a tap with a hammer. Comes right off, if you remember it's reverse thread!

harold just manufactured another batch of the wrenchs for those that need em. he also has kdp jig kits in stock that he manufactures for the 89 thru 99 trucks. he'll try to talk ya out of jiggin the 89 thru 96 rigs as the 96 and older should have front cover removed and bolts holding gearcase on need to be removed one at a time and cleaned and locktited. failure to do this preventative maintainance is a mistake. while ya be in there ya may as well go head and tab it

these wrenchs are a bargain at the price harold is charging.

email and ph posted above is corect
