I have had my TST for one tank of fuel. Wish I had bought this earlier. I have been trying to get the best mileage possible since purchasing my truck. I travel a little over 50 miles per day highway in my daily work routine. It is mostly highway. I usually travel around 500 miles per week which comes out to around a tank a week give or take a little. I have tried to be very good on filling and driving to get a good base. I now have over 6000 miles and can get mid 17's if I drive no faster than 65mph highway to and from work. If I drive 70-75 I am usually mid 16's.
65 mph just felt like a comfortable speed and I am sure this is why I get the best mpg.
After installing the TST I set it on 3/3 and have had it there all along. I had read somewhere that 2/3 and 3/3 seemed to help mileage. My first tank gave me 18. 29 and I could not be happier. The truck gets up and goes when you press the long pedal. This mileage was also traveling 70-75 instead of 65. It just felt like it wanted to be there. I am thinking it must be where the torgue curve is in the RPM range. I will be dynoing in the near future to see if any of this makes sense.
All the mileage is hand calculated for those that are wondering. And those trying to add mileage get a TST box!! I will definately play with other settings at some point but for now I am happy to be able to get the mileage increase and some HP/TQ added for when I get the urge to make it go.
Mark, Greg and Annette were great to deal with at TST. As I was one of those annoying customers that kept asking questions until I was satisfied.
