Hard Downshift As I Come To a Stop

I just noticed after getting some software updates on my truck. I have a 2016 3500 DRW Aisin with 4.10 gearing. As I come to a complete stop I feel a hard downshift just as I come to a stop. I know my truck has a very short first gear but is this normal? I don't remember feeling this downshift so abrupt. It almost feels like my truck gets rear ended.

Not exactly.......If I remember right, my 2014 had two updates in the 1.5 years I had it......my 2016 has already had one.

Yes sir. All fluid levels are good. I made an appointment with Huntington Beach Ram for next week. Hopefully they can figure it out.

I know you can check for recalls and RAM owners shows the radio security update. Without going to a dealer how do I know if there are TSBs for my truck? Snoking

It's just downshifting from 2nd to 1st.

It wasn't always such a hard downshift though. Feels like I'm slamming the brakes.

As far as I know you can't.....At most of the dealers nowadays, the service writer can check your truck in the service driveway, with his Ipad and bluetooth/OBD2 hookup.
