Attention: TDR Forum Junkies 
I know I 've read about this problem on this site but need your assistance. My 98. 5 24v is having a starting problem. It cranks hard and fast but will not "catch" and run. It sounds like it has no fuel however I checked lift pump pressure and it is good and the filter is changed regularly. It first happened about a thousand miles ago, didn't happen again until 2 days ago and has happened repeatedly in the last 24 hours. It does not seem to care if it is hot or cold and has not caused the check engine light to go on. Once it starts it runs fine for hours.
Is this the crankshaft position sensor going bad?
Any help would be much appreciated as she has to sit until fixed and my "04 is in the shop for paintwork... . I'm down to the jeep with 300,000 miles on it... . and that is a scary feeling!
