Archived hard start- idle surging

started truck this morning took along time to crank, Idle is surging up and down, only enough to sound like a cam is a gasser. touch the throttle and it will rev to 2000 rpm- throttle is very light to the touch. jsut started this AM. truck has new overflow valve and return lines. nay help will be appreciated,a truck can not be driven like it is. is it possible that the timing has slipped?
