My buddy's truck (01 ctd with a 5 speed)has a hard start problem when it has sat for a while. The truck starts great when it is warm but i think it is loosing prime when it sits for a little while. It seems to be worse when the nose is up also. The truck recently had the lift pump & the injection pump replaced. I checked the lift pump pressure & it idles at 13 psi. We checked the fuel lines & connections & we cant find anything loose or leaking. The #3 injector line at the head was loose & leaking fuel from there but i tightened it & the leak went away but the cold hard start remanes. There is a 1693 companion code in the odometer window but that is it. Could a sensor be causing this or a bad connection somewhere doing it?It seems to me like its getting air in the lines somehow but i cant find it. Can a bad injector or connector tube be the culprit? The truck runs excellant once it starts & it is bone stock with 200,000 miles on the clock. Any help will be greatly appreciated as i am going nuts trying to fix this thing. Thanks.

dumb question ,are the grid heaters working? what is the temperature there now?have seen problems with the rubber seal washers at banjo bolts. these are small leaks and hard to find if they are on the suction side of the pump.

Thanks guys,The grid heaters are cycling as they should & i replaced the banjo bolt sealing washers on the inlet to the liftpump. I will check the fuel cannister cap. Anybody have any other ideas i can try?
