Hard start when cold

I am new to this please bear with me I asked for help on hard

start when cold Thanks to every one for the help I need to replace the return hose is this a special hose or is it cut from stock

if so how long and what size How big a job to change the lift pump



My truck is A 96 134000 miles all stock

You need less than 3 feet of 5/16" and 3/8" hose to replace your lines. Just make sure it is rated for diesel fuel. Can't help you with the lift pump question. Lots of old posts on this topic, though. Do a search and you will get more hints than you can use.

Change your hoses first then see if you think you need to fool with the lift pump. Many times the 12 valve lift pump is replaced needlessly, it's the 24 valve guys that have that problem. If your problem isn't the hoses it's probably the over flow valve or clogged filters.
