im working on a friend's 94 and im not sure where to begin. he complained it is haard to start, just have to keep cranking on it but after it starts it runs fine. It has been sitting in the shop for 4 days at about 40 degrees and it wont start at all. i cracked open an injector line and no fuel at all. The only thing i can think of is a bad lift pump or overflow valve?

Will it start better if you give it a little pedal? A lot of hard start problems at only haveing the idle too low.

If that's not it, then check fuel hoses, overflow valve, pre-filter screen, fuel heater, leaking fittings, fuel solenoid, and the lift pump. That's kind of the order of probability of what might be wrong.

To the left of the transfer lift pump on the ds of engine below the fuel filter.

Hit the primer on the lift pump about 20 times if it bangs off then you are loosing prime. My guess is a seedy rubber fuel return line. However, Joe hit everything in his post.

Good luck, Andy
