Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) hard starting 95

Hello all, first post in a while, just had the 215 inj installed last week. Wow, what a difference from stock inj. The truck seems to take a couple extra turns of the starter to get going, is this normal for these injectors? The truck has a 10 plate,3k, freeflow exhaust,cold air intake. Oh yeah, what would I be runing for HP/TQ now? Thanks, Dean

The 215 injectors should not make any difference in starting.

Try giving it some throttle when starting and see if it makes a difference. If it does, then;

Some things to check:

Engine idle

Fuel pressure

All rubber fuel lines



Not sure about HP/TQ.

Some times the wiring to the fuel shut down solenoid get worn out. Bumping while doing the injectors may have caused some issues. Check that the solenoid is making full travel in on and off position.

Also,

If starting issues began when you put in the 3GSK, you might have set the spring tension too tight.

If it starts ok if you press the pedal a little then your idle is too low.

Thanks for all the replies, I found why the truck was hard starting. Kind of embarrassing actually. Did some battery cable/post maintenance last week the day before the injectors were put it. Lifted the hood yesterday to start doing the valve lash and found the positive cable off to the second battery, oops. put it back on and what do you know, fired up like it should.
