Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Hard Starting

I have a 95 Ram 4WD 2500. Starts fine on the initial start but after driving for a while and shutting down then trying to start again it just cranks and cranks but takes some time before it catches. Has anybody else had this problem.

Have you tried to give it a little pedal to help start?
