2000 q/c blue ch FMS step 3's, piers, 4" ex, carter lift pumps (2)DTT transmission

Starts only after cranking fo 5-10 seconds, or cycling the lift pumps twice, and it seems like it is getting worse, any input is appreiated

ps 100K on 400hp

I had the same problem at 73K, especially after new lift pump installed. I measured battery voltage with the cables disconnected --- Each had only 8. 75 volts. I guess the two of them together gave enough amps to start.

Anyway, bought to new batteries and it now starts with just a click.

With cycling your lift pump a few times, It sounds like you might have a fuel line that is leaking air into the system and allowing the inj pump to loose its prime.

On Mercedes and VW diesels, The braided fuel hose that they used would get minute porosities in it and the fuel would drain back to the tank and empty the inj pump. Yet the lines wouldn'd show fuel leakage... Go figure! Just a thought. Chris
