I own a 2002 quad cab h/o 62,083 miles. I have owned 3 trucks with same specs. The first two trucks never saw the dealer until I traded them. I run the interstate and put on 65,000 miles a year. (I trade every 15 months) At present my truck sits in a dealers yard with a blown rear end, but thats minor compared to past problems. This truck has had 3 lift pumps, 2 injection pumps, 1 transfer case & 1 new air cleaner box. (o yeah, a new engine at 936 miles!!) My local dealer has been good to me and has done their best to keep it running. (they put my new engine in on a weekend)

Has any one else experienced this? By the way I am a devoted cummins owner and will be ordering a '04 soon. My question also is why won't my truck start after it sits over nite? It has a new lift pump 2 weeks ago. After 30 seconds it will start, no matter what the outside temp is.

no start

My 99 would not start so good not so long ago. I would let the grid heater do it's job(or so I thought), and try to start it, no go!

It turns out that even though the light in the dash says it was working , it was'nt. Don't know why it went through the motions, but did'nt work. I'll find out soon.

Won't start.....

After 30 seconds it will start, no matter what the outside temp is.

Has anyone looked at a fuel system leak? I remember reading a post about hard starting and a fella had a small leak in his fuel system creating pressure loss resulting in air in the fuel system creating a hard start situation.

Think about it... ... Re-priming the fuel system after changing out a fuel filter... . Just a thought, hope it helps.

Clay:)
