Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Hard Starting

Alright guys, I'm having problems starting truck after it sits for about 24 hrs. Truck will crank right up and run fine for about 5-10 seconds and then die. Then after continuously cranking for about 2-4 minutes it cranks but runs kind of ragged for about a minute. then it runs fine and starts great rest of the day. Only thing ever been done to fuel system is filter changes,last one 15000 miles ago. 167000 total miles on truck. Whats wrong?

Possibly fuel return line could be going bad causing air to get into the system. More people will offer there advice for anything else.

I agree with drhoades. If you have not replace the fuel lines it could be your problem. Buy the Coast Guard approved fuel lines also, they are thicker. Someone on this site you can tell where to get them.

Replacing the lines is a REAL PITA too, thats why you get the best ones. Also use all SS clamps.
