Truck is an 02 with 81000. Injection pump and LP replaced at 61000. For the last 3 weeks it has become progressively harder to start in the morning. Sometimes it will fire once or twice before finally starting on all 6. Runs fine all day and starts quicky after the first morning start. Heater grid cycles and is drawing juice at the heater terminals. LP pressure is unchanged at 10-13 under cruising and will show 13-14 with key. Question- Is this a sign of the VP44 going on vacation again? Last time the engine always started fine but would quit at highway speed now and again. It almost acts like it is getting air somewhere but cannot locate any leaks. I have an Edge but pump has never been tapped. Getting worried and wonder if any of this rings a bell with someone out there.

Thanks in advance.

batteries that are on the edge will cause this as well. the Cummins needs a certain rpm before she'll light off. i didn't notice my crank speed changing as the batteries aged, but upon battery replacement it was quite obvious!
