Hi All,

I just installed a new lift pump in my truck 3 days ago (thanks TowPro for the instructions).

The truck now takes more cranking to get it to start. Before, it would start with only 1 to 2 seconds of cranking the starter. Now it seems to be taking 3 or 4 seconds.

Did I not get one of the fuel lines tightened up enough and now it's managing to suck air into the line ?

Any Ideas ?

Thanks,

--Phil

Any idea what type of psi's you are seeing at idle ? The reason I ask is that some members have seen longer cranking times with real high fuel pressure. Mine has always taken an extra millisecond to fire up since the BD 5's went in. I try to regulate the pump I'm using for no more than 16 psi's at idle.

Hey Scott,

I measured the pressure right after I put the new pump on. It's got 15 PSI at idle.

I checked the banjo bolts last night and managed to tighten up the one into and out of the lift pump a little. Hopefully that will fix it.

I'll keep you posted.

Thanks for the help,

--Phil
