The bolts that hold on my ballancer are frozen on so tight that the whole engine is starting to lift and rotate on engine mounts, I was able to remove only one of four bolts, What am I doing wrong. My son who is 6 4 can't even break bolts loose any Help will be greatley excepted
Should be a standard removal, right hand threads. You may have to insert a barring tool to prevent the engine from rolling over or if you want some more work you could tear the front end apart to get enough room ot get an impact gun on them. If you have a maual transmission put it in high gear and set the e-brake, that will substitute for a barring tool.
Pneumatic impact wrench. Or get an engine barring tool and have someone hold the engine from turning while you use a cheater on a breaker bar. Those are my suggestions.
A 3/4" breaker bar. 15mm socket. A short extension or an adapter (3/4" to 1/2" drive). a big hammer. Whack that sucker and the bolts will turn right out.

It really does! No fuss..... No need to hold the engine from turning. It will turn a slight amount as you swing the hammer, but who gives a rip. We arn't setting the engine pump timing here. The bolts will back off rapidly to the point that you turn them out by hand.
You can also keep the engine from turning over by putting a wrench on one of the balancer bolts that's still in. But an impact works best if you have the front end apart.
If you have a manual transmission, slap 'er in gear and set the parking brake... that's what I've had to do the 2 or 3 times the harmonic balancer has been off the '98.
