I installed Harold's high idle kit (TDR Issue 32, p. 146) on my truck and I just wanted to say thanks to Harold, and let the general readership know that it is a good product.

It is very easy to install and it works as advertised.

I'm sure I could have fab'd up something similar myself for less cost, but I am willing to pay a little bit for convience (all parts in the box and ready to go, no running around or trying to find stuff in the garage)

Note: I understand that it is not good to let the truck idle for too long. I use it primarily when I run into a store for a few minutes and in the AM after I start the truck and run back in the house to grab my coat and coffee/pop.

Take care,

Ryan

Ditto on the high idle kit. Top quality and FAST service too.

Installation was about 30 minutes and one coke. I installed

the kit for the autos and love it...

A side note with my installation is a minor problem with

the high idle speed I was trying to acheive. Lo and behold,

if your pump is modified, high idle (1100 to 1400 RPM) may

be impossible to achieve. In my case, I can either have 1050

or 1500 RPM. nothing in between... This is NOT the fault of

the high idle device!!! I repete, it's not the high idle kit's fault. .

It's just the idosyncrice of my modified pump. I'm using the kit

but my idle just goes up to 1050 RPM. Again, a real nice kit

with everything included for a professional installation.

PS. I'm just a satisified customer. .

hey Cooker, where in the GR area did you get the DTT upgrades done on your transmission. Talk to me.

thanks

goatherder, I believe Cooker meant to say TDR issue 34 (although I can't verify this right now).

Sorry for the confusion.

The ouside cover (you know the white cardboard type paper), says 32 on the binding. The front of the white cover and cover of the magazine says 33.

This kit (advertised in issue 33) is for the 12v. I know Harold came out with a kit for the 24v as well, and that may be in issue 34?
