I heard Mercruiser is using the quiet 5. 9 cummins. Running also much higher horsepower. Up around 300 to 400 HP.

Block Island, RI has two pumpout boats with Yanmar diesel outboards... I think they are 40 hp. They've had them for about 5 years now. They run all day long, 7 days/week during the boating season, and use almost nothing for fuel... most of their time is at low speed.
