Has anyone dyno'd a stock CR610?

I've seen links to vendors comparison charts but no torque figures or actual dyno's from members. If someone has one, please post numbers. If available I'd like to know...

Corrected and uncorrected HP/TQ

Man or Auto trans

Type of dyno

DA or any atmospherics from the day of the pull.

Thanx

Dynoed my 05 3500 SRW auto at Meridian Motor Sports the end of August. I believe it was a DynoJet with 4500 lb weights.

Corrected numbers were 300 HP 577 TQ. Torque is probably lower than it should be due to the TQ management in the PCM that won't allow full throttle at lower rpm's. Dropped in the Bully Dog master download and gained 50 HP/85 TQ.

Those are pretty stout numbers for stock. I would have thought that parasitic loss would have been higher for an auto. From what you have seen, are those numbers fairly common for a stock motor? I was expecting to see RWHP #'s in the 275-280 range.

well I agree, my 04. 5 stock except a gutted cat and lost the muffler got 298 hp and 511 TQ. I dont know what it is now with my TST and AFE setup. I would think a 610 would be showing close numbers like this. Well just my daily 2 cents.

Its a number, a starting point. Whether its indicative of what it is actually putting out is a good question. The numbers are within 8% of factory ratings, which begs the question of how the factory ratings were established. Did they have a friendly dyno? Did I have a friendly dyno? Is an auto in lockup any different than a manual with the clutch engaged? I am guessing but I would think they would be awfully close. About the only way to tell is run engine and trans only in a controlled environment. As a rough guess there should eb about a 20% drop of power thru the drive train. Unscientific number to be sure but based on observed nubers that seems close.

The 03 and 04 numbers I have seen posted have been in around 250/260 HP 500 TQ. I have no idea if they were corrected numbers or not. My view of dyno numbers is they are good for 2 things; teeling whether changes you made have a +/- impact, and bragging rights. There are just too many variables across operators and dynos to compare.

I would have to guess the numbers that are advertised for the factory truck are from an engine dyno, not a chassis dyno. And I'm sure they are in an "optimal" environment.

There are too many variables that would make a chassis dyno too inaccurate for factory specs.

Ex: A manual sandard cab truck will make more on a dyno than a 4 door long bed. The engine makes the same amount of power, but more is lost through the driveline because it is longer.

I pulled 313. 8 hp and 588. 4 torque with my mods which I consider basically stock, intake and exhaust. I only have a cr600 but I am sure there can not be that much of a difference in the two. I saw a new duracrap go after me he pulled 430 for torque I almost felt bad hehe

On our dyno, a 610 auto truck will make about 270-275 and 490-500 TQ. 6-speed trucks are maybe a couple HP stronger. Just dynoed an '06 6-speed yesterday, it made 275/500. After a set of our injectors, it made 345/650 with ZERO smoke. Gotta love that.

This is on a Dynojet 248HW, the one with the heavy 8000 lb drums. a 305 truck will make 260/480, and an SO 250 truck will make 190-200 ans 400 TQ. It is what it is. Bottom line is to pick ONE dyno to use to do all your testing. It's impossible to gauge a difference if you hop around on different dynos all the time.

All Auto manufacturers rate their engine's at the flywheel.

Cummins is an engine manufacturer and has plenty of engine dyno's.

Besides, that is most accurate way to measure or rate an engines performance.

Not a chassis dyno.

Holy crap... is that just with an injector change? No other mods?
