Has anyone had to replace air intake temp. sensor?

I have been having problems starting my truck when it is cold outside. Around 25 degrees. I took the starter off and nothing appears to be wrong with it. Could it be the air intake sensor is gone bad. If so has anyone ever had to replace one. About what was the cost and how big a job was it to do. Thank you

Did you check to see if there is 12V at the intake heater terminals when it's cold?

just had the same problem on my 94. i assume you starter is turning when you hit the switch but have to keep cranking to get it started? i checked the pcm fault codes with on-off switch method and it showed that mine was bad,,,on cold days the intake heater would only cycle for a second then back off,not enough to get it started,took out the air temp sensor and cleaned the connections the best i could & put it back in and now it's fine ,now it tells the intake heaters to stay on longer due to the cold temp. i bought a new air temp sens. anyway just incase mine acts up again. could only get one at a dealer and it was $23. just as easy as changing a spark plug
