Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Diagnostic codes help

Replaced map sensor on 98. 5 last winter. Engine didn't run right when started cold. I also replaced the crank position sensor and cam sensor. I don't know if any of them were bad or not, the problem was still there but went away on it's own after a while.

Dealer checked and erased codes and said nothing was wrong.

The sensors are fairly cheap from Cummins.

I've had a bunch of error codes related to my MAP sensor. Whenever I drive over 75mph for more than 5-minutes or tow a "heavy" trailer (8-10Klbs ) I get a check-engine light and then the engine feels like I threw an anchor out. The mighty CTD just bogs out ! Used to happen on a frequent basis.

Recently had several things fixed under warranty - TPS and lift pump. Still have the same symptoms so I've just changes my driving habits. According to the code I get, the engine issue is related to some sensors that fail to communicate. According to the stealer . . . I mean dealer . . . the MAP could also be a cause of the problem.

Except for this issue, I'm pretty happy with the truck.

For what it's worth.

I kept getting check engine light coming on and replaced both MAP and IAT coated connectors with dielectric grease and no more problems. BTW Cummins sells both parts for considerably less than the stealer or auto parts store.

Mine started throwing codes last year, around October. I used the dilelectric grease, which kept the codes at bay for awhile. In the spring of this year I started getting the same codes every few weeks ( mostly the low voltage code). I had a MAP sensor on hand so I swapped it out and have not seen a code since. I never had a driveability issues, wouldn't have known it was going south short of the MIL/codes.
