Has anyone installed a Reese Titan hitch on a 2nd-gen 94/01 truck?

Like many of you, I've recognized the modest load capacity of the factory hitch on my 01 3500. It seems the maximum tongue weight (non-distributing) is 500 lbs! With the light rear end and the heavy diesel, the last thing I want to do is distribute more weight on the front axles in order to pull a heavier load. With RWD, I want to exert more weight on those rear wheels for better traction and f/r weight distribution. The question is ... Is there any drilling or excessive "knuckle-bashing" required to replace the factory hitch with the Reese Titan class V hitch on a 2nd generation truck? My Reese dealer doesn't seem to know so I thought I'd consult with the experts on this forum.

I was initially planning on getting the Reese Titan hitch when I purchased my slide-in camper just for towing with an extension. Since then, I've heard more good things about the Tork-Lift hitch. I use Tork-Lift camper tie-downs and am very pleased, but to date, I still have the OEM hitch.

Thanks much folks, your your responses. Dave, Gordon and I have some common interests in truck campers!
