2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Has the cab light part # been figured our for 2001's?

Has the cab light part # been figured out for 2001's?

I purchased the #82205120 kit a while back, and of course it was the old style beehive type. I did not install it. I would like to find the newer style lights for my '01, how can I get these? Is there a Dodge part #? Can I still use the harness and templete from the 82205120 kit? Thanks for any help!

I don't know the part number, but I helped with one and did my own. I had to buy the kit for the 03 dodge. It has the correct lights in that set, but not the right pattern. Trust me, I am a freak about these kinds of things, this kit has the correct lights. You have to get creative on the wiring, and I found it easier to pull the headliner out and drill up. I used a 11/8 hole saw to make the pilot bit hole dead center, and then drilled it with the correct 7/8 hole saw.

The sad part is that they don't have the right lights in the kit for the 03's

Whoops, just re read your post. The harness should work great from the kit you have, not sure if the template would have the mounting screws in the same location as the newer lights, but they might.



I would reccommend you drill the big holes using the trucks built in pattern using the bigger bit to mark your center like I described above. Then, if the pattern you have will work for the mounting screws, I would line it up on the roof using the holes you've already drilled. That would be the least stressfull way to do it, IMHO.

I went to buy a set of old style lights for my 97. I was told they have discontinued that style, and you can only get the new style lights. The part number I got for the new lights is: 82205120, which is the same number you got, so I'm not sure what's up with that.

Your dealer is confused.



Try another dealer, the first dealer I went to didn't know what I wanted and didn't really care. The second one worked with me until we got the right kit (newer).

LOL, I had the same problem, the first dealer I went to ordered me just one lamp, then the second time they ordered me 5, but with no harness or connectors. Luckily, I found exactly what I was looking for on eBay. All the service departments at the Dodge dealers around my neck of the woods conduct themselves very poorly. If I need parts, I usually track them down on eBay, and they are always cheaper than if I bought them at a dealer.
