Had my clockspring replace 2 weeks after i got the truck. Got the recall notice last week, and noticed it didn't seem necessary if you had already had it replaced. Well wouldn't you know it, got in truck at work today and as soon as I turned the wheel, snap! crackle! crunch! bong bong bong ... airbag light is on. Guess i'll get it replaced again, I hope the 3rd one lasts more than a year (got just over 12 mos out of the 2nd one).

I'm just hoping there has been some re-design done, this is starting to get old...

Junky Spring!

DMurdock-

I had mine replaced after it broke, I asked the service guy if this was a new designed spring that he put back in, guess what he said? "NOPE" So I guess I'll twist up some bailing wire and put that in my steering wheel if this happens again:D :D it would sure be more effort than DC has put into it!!!

My guess is those that were replaced prior to the recall were the same old thing. Those replaced as a part of the recall are probably a new design. If there were not, why replace all of the ones that had not broke yet??? Stranger things have happened, but logic tells me the recalled ones are of a new design. I guess I will know eventually, had mine replaced under recall last week.
