Hauling Nursery Plants

There is a small town nearby that has several sizeable nurseries. I have talked to two brothers who haul for them part-time. One has DOT numbers and the other does not. What would I need to do this part time and how likely would I be to get DOT checked with Agriculture Products such as plants?

Just did DOT numbers over 10k and hauling anything of a commerical venture you need them. Insurance (I think it was 1M but may be 500G) is going to be the kicker for most people the fees and reporting are easy. **** tests and such are also needed.

We ran for 12 years before weigh station asked for papers duh! I got out of it since that day I happened to being using truck trailer for personal use other wise BIG fine and would have had to leave trailer.
