Have a 05 6 speed 4:10 on order. Have question?

I recently ordered a 05 6 speed HO with the 4:10 rear ratio. What speed/rpm does this combo travel at in 6th at 70-75???



My current 97 5 speed 4:10 limits me to 70 -75 @ 2500 rpm.



My old 2000 auto, 3:55 was a freeway *****. . LOL it would tac 2000 rpm at 75 and Hmmmm at 80. . Boy I miss her, but gotta have the 4:10...

The 5-spd has top gear ratio of . 75, the 6-spd is . 73. At 2500 rpm the 5-spd will run 74 mph, the 6-spd will run 76 mph w/4. 10's and stock tires. If I may ask, how come you need/want the 4. 10's over the 3. 73's?

with 4. 10's and stock 265-70R17 tires, it's 2400 RPM at 75 MPH.



This worksheet will allow you to see RPM vs speed for the 48RE vs 6 speed, for any axle ratio or tire combo.

Need 4:10's

I tow a 16,000 lb gross 5th wheel. The truck should make me closer to legal. I think 3:73 has less of a rating?

Truck & trailer 16K? If so than I would change the order to 3. 73's unless you are gonna go up to big tires. IMO you won't like the 4. 10's with stock tires.



I have the auto with 3. 73's which is the tallest combo you can get. I upgraded to 285 tires that are about 33" tall and hit 2000 rpm @ 70 unloaded which is my max where mpgs start to drop.

It tows our little 6K travel trailer in the mountains just fine and tows in OD on the flats.

Matt, sorry I didn't clarify. . I wish my GCVW was only 16,000. . I'd keep my 97 and the 40,000$ I'll be spending.



The trailer alone is 16,000# then the truck.
