Hey everyone, I recently bought a 06 that came with the Edge mod. and I am currently not towing, the occasional bobcat trailer here and there when I need to but mostly its a DD. A bit overkill for a DD but I love driving it. The queston is should I drive it on the stock setting? I have been leaving it on the "Drive" or (3) setting for that little bit of extra vrooom in the lower gears but after reading some of the impacts these chips have I am wondering if I should remove it or just run it on "stock" all the time. I do not want to have issues down the road at all.

I do however plan on pulling a 5er but don't own one yet. Any advice from the "been there done that" group would be great. Yes I have surfed the threads for some answers. . Honestly I have been thinking of just removing it getting gauges to watch EGT's and etc. One more thing has anybody actually had to replace injectors from using the Edge products? Thanks in Advance.

If it were me I would go ahead and use it. Just get yourself an egt probe and you have all the guages you need. IMHO the Edge is prolly about as safe it is going to get on a stock truck.

The Edge will run hotter than other boxes towing and will really get toasty if you turn it up. They tend to run a lot of timing so careful towing, only use the lower settings or you can run into meting piston syndrome.

the probe is before the turbo in the exhaust manifold. I only see it jump up around 800 when I am getting on the freeway in a hurry. At about 70mph its between 5-600 on cruise. I haven't ran it over setting 3 mostly on 1 or 0 which is stock.

My one cent. I had one for two years, nothing but problems. My friend Eic has one resets once per week and other issues now arrising after 2 1/2 years, my friend Kenny has one and it resets every other day along with shorted map sensor plug, and wrong EGT readings he just shorted out 2 injector solenoids which i will bet most things on that it was do to the Edge. JUNK IT! I bought a Smarty and never looked back once. Both of them are now looking for something similar to Edge with gauges. Trust me Junk it.

Hello, I have ran Edge products for over seven years and no issues to date. I would run the edge and as long as you are smart about not beating the crap out of your truck you won't have issues. I love to hear people bash a product because they don't know how to drive with increased power. If you have your box turned all the way up and no other modifications to your truck and drive WFO you will have problems. Edge juice with attitude is a great product as was the Edge box on my 2001.

KEEP THE EDGE!!Someone you bought the truck from PAID $$800. 00 or more for the box take advantage of the gauges & power it will provide. DONT GO OVER LEVEL 3 unless you have a after market manifold like one from ATS. This manifold will help keep the exhaust temp down(keep below 1350 degree ). Read the book to make sure ALL THE VALUES are not set to high to get you in trouble. If you dont have the book go to edge website to READ ALL you can to understand about the box. It has so so many things you can change to low boost fueling to max miles per hour setting. Understand what the box will do for you before ya get rid of it!!

I am with ya, I have been running it on stock and level 1. I do need to read the manual and make minor adjustments. It is quite amazing to go from stock power to level 3. I am out for long life out of this engine and truck, sorta thinking of getting the newer display though. Anybody switched yet to the newer lcd readout one. . kinda big is the only thing. With that and my gps its starting to look like a airplane cockpit. All i need now is a ham radio and a cb and a cessna 175 would be jealous. Thanks for all your opinions on this.

I have the Edge on my '04, love the thing! I've had it for about 10 months and 20K miles, no problems. I do recommend that you run it in level 1 for the most part, just for daily driving, that 20 extra hp makes a big difference over stock alone. I run mine on level 1 most of the time and turn it up to 5 if I REALLY want to pass someone! Just make sure that you have all of the parameters set to keep you from hurting the truck, i. e. max egt temp, this we'll keep you from melting it down if you're not paying attention.

50K and smiling

I have run my mostly stock 4. 5 a little over 50,000 with Edge with Attitude and leave it on lvl 3 with a few ventures to level 4 for just a few minutes. No problems.
