My truck is on the train in Port Auther texas as of today. It should take around two weeks to reach L. A. , Long Beach. CA. The question is I have the vin number so what is it telling me?

If you can get the car number that it is on, you can track it on it's trip. This assumes that it is on a Union Pacific car.

Call DC customer service and see if they can get you the rail car number.

Have fun... .

Well if the trucks are really built in order of the last six digits, then mine should be somewhere in the USA and nearing PA! My number is 4G187420 and yesterday, DC told me it was in G status or trim?? I will give them a call in a bit to see if the status has changed.

I assume that a few things could change the order they build them in. One would be shortages of some of the options, the other may be that they only build certain colors at certain times, but I could be totally wrong on that. In any case, my truck is in Laredo TX and I have a rail car number, but no shipping schedule yet. I assume that they have to fill up the rail cars with vehicles all going to the same destination before it leaves. Getting anxious now.

Well My number does'nt tell me if it is a 325/600 may be a 305/555 due to the fact it was built on 1-6-04.

I also wonder if I should turn down this vehicle since it was one of the first built after the long holiday's. You know what they say " If it's built on a monday or friday it may be a bit of gremlin-ized due to the fact everyone is comming off or going on the weekend break".

With a build date of 1/6, there is no doubt it is a 325/600 series. You could not get a 305 hp CTD in Ca. and no SO version after 1/1.

Rest easy... ... You'll be smiling soon.
