Have you passed a Ford lately?

We were merging onto I26 from I385 last Sunday. I pulled in behind two late model 7. 3 F 450's fully expecting them to leave me in the dust. One was pulling a four place horse trailer goose neck and the other was pulling a Designer of around 34 feet. I followed them on three rolling hills where I normally don't have to downshift running 70- 72mph. All three times I pulled up on them halfway up the hill and had to slow down and downshift. After that I told the wife we were going on around and I passed them on the fourth hill. Since my truck is stock, I am wondering if a 250/630 plate is going to make alot of difference. It seems pretty strong as it is. Later I got behind another 12V on a hill and he pulled away from me a little blowing a little smoke. Don't know what he had, but he had three gauge pods on the dash. What do you think about which plate to get?

How much weight were you towing in comparrison just to make it fair?

Having driven both the Ford and the Dodge, a stock automatic Ford is no match.



This is Ford country up here, so I pass Fords daily.

Sorry it isn't showing my profile. Truck, Everest 363K fifth wheel, and tailgating stuff grosses 19700- 20,000. I figure the F450 to be heavier, but most Fords are pulling alot lower gear too. Please no weight police lectures!
