It cost me $88 bucks to fill my tank today.

As I drove off, laughing, I decided that I need a better way.

I've read some on using WVO as a percentage of the total fuel.

Is the Gen 3 compatible with this?

Forgive me if I'm asking a question that's already been answered - I'm not used to navigating this website yet.

Thanks

Tom

Yep. $75 on my '91 Ford yesterday.

Grrrr... . Maybe time to ride the bicycle to work... Just 25 miles round trip per day...

I havent left the house in the last 3 days! Then, 3 days ago, I rode my bike! Fuel here is now $3. 10 a gallon. On a brighter side, the yard is looking great, and Ive lost 10 pounds.

I think you're talking about waste vegetable oil in your fuel. I've heard of people doing it, but I wouldn't dare do it in my truck. The small amount of money you save could cost you lots down the road. With the way these injectors seem to be so sensitive and prone to failure, I think you're asking for trouble. There could also be problems with the fuel solidifying if it's not warm enough and clogging your fuel system.

Up here in the high desert, So Cal it is 3. 19 gallon.

I get 22 MPG and now at this price it is $102. 00 per fill up, that is 700 miles per tank.

When I bought my truck in May 03, diesel was $1. 35 gallon, that is a 237% increase in 3 years. Used to only take $43. 00 per fill up at that price.

I am shelling out $32. 25 extra per week, from the May 03 vs. April 06, thats $1,677. 00 extra in costs. And the Govt. is floating a trial ballon to give us $100. 00 for the whole year, what a joke! I dont want the handout anyway, it will just get tacked on the trillions that the USA owes on the national debt.

I was told that in Mexico, diesel is in the $1. 40 range.

You got it, Spooled-up. I'm talking about waste vegetable oil. I've visited some sites that claim you can use this, and can also use "used" engine oil as fuel. Maybe not 100%, but at maybe 1 part "recycled oil" to 5 parts diesel fuel. The treatments of the waste oil, to make it "burnable", vary based on what who is trying to sell you. It appears to work for some diesel engines, but I don't have any information that it works in a generation 3 engine.

I don't know what happeneed to my truck description - it was supposed to be at the end of my messages. I"ll work on that. I've got a '03 2500 SLT HO Turbo Diesel 4X4 6 speed MT with road and trailer tow groups and ARE cap. Did I mention that I love my truck?
